Michael Quigley and Stephen Emanuels founded EQ to provide wealth management services to corporate executives, business owners, and retirees. Their passion to serve as fiduciaries drives their counsel with clients and key initiatives for the firm. Clients appreciate Michael’s knowledge and insights on complex compensation structures, open enrollment decisions, retirement timing, cash flow planning, and estate design.

 

He is constantly developing specialized calculators and tools to model out the dynamic impact of key financial planning decisions. His goal is to empower clients to make their own decisions by helping them understand the value and impact of key variables. As a member of EQ’s Investment Policy Committee, Michael plays a key role in the design and architecture of our investment management solutions and advice. In addition, Michael serves as EQ’s Chief Compliance Officer.

When I Am Not at Work

 

Michael is a lifelong resident of Seattle area and a graduate of the University of Washington. He lives in Bellevue with his wife Catherine and three children. The Quigleys are an active family and can often be found enjoying the mountains and waters of the Pacific Northwest. Michael’s favorite activities include snowboarding, water skiing, scuba diving, and he loves tinkering around the house and garage. 

 

 

Previous Roles or Ventures

Prior to founding EQ Wealth Management in 2018, Michael was a partner with Capital Planning LLC. Michael has over two decades of financial industry experience and a distinguished track record as an advisor to affluent families. Michael began his career in 1994 and built his knowledge of investments through his work as a Financial Consultant at Smith Barney. Michael left Smith Barney in 1997 to assist with the development and expansion of a financial planning joint venture with BECU, the largest financial cooperative in the state of Washington.
